We found the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease frightening and overwhelming. WE had no idea how to plan or how to get support. Dorothy Kamaker from Alzheimer's Assist Sydney took all the anxiety and confusion out of the first few weeks for us: she got us registered with the Government support agencies and with all the local network in our area, went with us to our lawyer to ensure he understood how to plan our living will and general wills. She has given us a plan that includes steps we should consider about our residential needs as we want to live independently, together for as long as possible. She has helped us compose and "end of life directive" that reflects our wishes and we feel so much more positive now about the next few years.
