I purchased a ducted vacuum system from AstroVac some years ago, and recently the suction dropped significantly.
I rang AstroVac for advice and the guy I spoke with was extremely helpful. He took the time to clearly explain three possible solutions that I could try to fix the problem myself to save the cost of a service call. He also said that if I was unsuccessful to call back and he would send someone around to fix it.
This reminded me that when I was looking to purchase the ducted vacuum system, the main reason that we purchased from AstroVac was the great price, and the knowledge and advice of their staff, which gave me the confidence to purchase the components and install the whole system myself.
The sort of service I received again this time is becoming increasingly rare, these days when you need advice, you usually speak to someone with very little knowledge who only wants to book a service call for you.
AstroVac were happy to provide free advice, and only as a last resort would send a serviceman.
And thanks to the advice I was given, I was able to fix it myself with the first of the three suggested solutions.
