Purchased takeaway fish and chips from here a few days ago.. very fresh and we enjoyed our simple meal of perch and chips on the foreshore.

Abysmal is an understatement. The old man who brought the food was a nasty piece of work. He was rude to my wife and daughter and very unreasonable. Also the food was terrible and overpriced. We walked out without finishing but we all still felt a bit sick later. Avoid this place.

Approximate cost: $20

I've been here a few times when I've been in the area. It's a decent place to grab some fish and chips. It's not amazing food but it's good enough if you're just looking for some lunch after a swim. Last time I was there though we waited for ages for our food and when we inquired about it the man was abrupt and defensive. Then as soon as we were finished eating we were asked to leave (even though it wasn't very busy and nobody was waiting for a table). I was a bit shocked, it's normally pretty standard to sit and talk for a little bit while you wait for your food to go down! So the food is alright but the service can be improved!

On holiday in Shoal Bay and we were craving fish and chips - unfortunately the shop at the Nelson's Bay wharf was just shutting as we wanted to order. Couldn't see one in Shoal Bay itself, so asked the ladies at the reception of our hotel - and so we found Aussie Bob (tucked just around the corner off the main street).

Parking and seating wasn't an issue for us, as we were staying walking distance down the road. Not the best fish and chips that we have ever had (as our favourite at Bermagui sets the bar high), but Aussie Bob certainly ranked up there. Real calamari, crispy chips and homemade tartare - what more can you ask for?

One of the best fish and chip shops in NSW. Although the food was great, we did have to wait some time before our order was ready. Additionally, there aren't enough tables for the amount of customers that come though, which is disappointing, considering their prices are quite high, and surely they'd be able to afford more seating. Parking around here is a bit of a pain too.

Overall good experience. Good food and good service. Had to wait a while even though there wasn't many other customers. I didn't have a chance to try other takeaway shops in the area. But this is an average takeaway shop.

Approximate cost: $10

This is an average fish and chips shop. I was a little miffed last time I went because they charged us for wedges of lemon with our fish! At other places it is included in the price. There is another store at Anna Bay but I haven't visited that one.
