I went to this particular post office between 10 & 4pm today to complete a passport application, because passport applications are only processed during this time frame. I have been to this post office branch many times and it is always super busy, especially during the lunch time period which is understandable. However with roughly 12 staff on today, I was fairly confident that I would be seen and dealt with in no time at all. I lined up in the passport application queue and waited for about 10 minutes. When I got to the front the staff member told me that he did not process passport applications and to follow him. I followed him to the opposite side of the branch where he proceeded to speak to some colleagues about me, and then he left me there to be processed without acknowledging to me what was happening. Out of the 12 staff members, they only had 1 person there able to process passport applications, which seemed rather inadequate at such a busy Australia post branch. That was fine, I waited my turn. The lady had just commenced another customer's application. Once she was finished another 10 minutes later, it was my turn. The lady was so rude to me, snatching my documents, not even looking up at me, her manners seemed non-existent. I felt so uncomfortable, that I excused myself and decided to complete my passport application on a different day and in a different Australia Post branch. Basically I was in this store for 30 minutes and achieved nothing, when I fully prepared. This Australia Post branch is under staffed in terms of staff able to process passport applications and customer service skills are clearly lacking. Overall it was a terrible encounter for me, and I will not be using this Australia Post branch ever again.
