Serviced 21st of OCT 2022 : Could not believe it, so many new faces & have been going there since 2016 with my Redline to get the oil / filter and serviced, they used to look after me all the time.
Always supplied my own Penrite oil GF -S new ISLAC 6(A) spec oil and Ryco z663st syn oil filter, it's got a KN air filter no need to clean it i do it myself.
It took almost 4 hours to do the service, oil change, oil filter change and stamp the book,.
Also they put the remainder of the 1lt Penrite oil with the cap not secured properly & put it back in my bag & put it on the back floor behind the driver's seat, which oil leaked into the bag, luckily the bag had the oil which leaked out.
So my advice do not go to Ballarat HOLDEN to get your car service, you can go to any authorised automotive service centre or better still ultra tune or Edge auto if in Ballarat? Looks like I will be going elsewhere?

Have found the service pretty much what I required. In some cases more than expected. Except for the service manager, most guys are pretty helpful. Have been using them for several years, but had a run in with the service manager and left a bad taste in my mouth. This guy turns off customers with his attitude. I am considering using another company as long as the service is impeccable. I have 5 cars.

I purchased a second hand commodore from an auction. I took it in for a service and asked that they look at the left indicator that stayed on ( i knew that it was a know problem for this model). They serviced the car but said it would cost me $190+labour to fix the indicator. The car was 2 weeks out of warrantee. They said that it was not possible to fix the known problem under warrantee as i didn't purchase it direct from Holden. I spoke with a friend of a friend who runs another holden dealership in another part of the state. He told me that it was a lie, the problem could be sorted out under the warentee.

Mate if the car is out of warranty, it's out of warranty! But I guess if you had of purchased the car from the dealer or any other Holden dealer they would have replaced the item under warranty or as a gesture of goos faith - but when you buy a car from the auctions, that's the deal you get. It's called buyer beware.

To gotyours, that is a fair call on the auctions, i agree and understand with buyer beware. I was simply peeved about the "good Faith' aspect and the fact that i was lied to. It was my first experience with a 'dealership' doing work on my car. Since i put that rating in i have had the indicator fixed under warranty. I was also peeved at the service that day. we put the car in a 8:30am and told it would be ready mid arvo, after going into pick it up at approx 4:45 we found out it had just been put in for service and we had to wait there while it got serviced. Regards, Stevo

The main issue with Holden ballarat is the price of servicing. It can be frightfully expensive and if you have a new car and take it anywhere else (even another Holden Dealership) they cut your warranty down by 3 years!

Friendly with a general attitude in favour of good service. The staff will drive you to work or back home while your car is being serviced which is handy.

Approximate cost: $650
