3 reviews about Ballarat Indian Restaurant

I wrote a review on this business some 18 months ago. It still is a "hidden gem" in the ballarat dining scene.

We have become regulars here (most unusual for my wife who is somewhat picky in her choice of restaurants), and can again recommend the BIR most highly for its great food, well-priced, and friendly front-of-house staff.

Takeaway trade is also brisk suggesting that locals have come to recognise that they can get a very good meal at a very good price.

The grapevine tells us that the BIR is about to relocate to the top end of Bridge mall - near McDonalds and other restaurants in downrown Ballarat. We are confident that they will do well there also.

But we'll do a review when they have settled in to their new home

This is a hidden gem in the Ballarat eating-out scene.

Easy to find, easy to park, friendly staff, great food, great value and a pleasant ambience about the restaurant decor.
We've been many times and never have had a bad experience. Their tandoori-cooked chicken is superb (try the Kashmiri chicken, for example), and their naan breads are tops. Yes, this is a REAL tandoor, not the orange paste that some places cover their food with and call it 'Tandoori"
The restaurant is licensed (very modest pricing) or BYO.

This family -run restaurant sees Neeru and her son at front of house providing service with a smile, with the father/husband tucked away in the kitchen providing always-very good dishes.
While the street presence of the Ballarat Indian Restaurant could do with a little work, once inside, you'll love it like we do. Whether you live in Ballarat or are a visitor in one of the nearby motels or caravan park, you won't \beat this place for a great meal at modest cost. Try it, and I'll be surprised if you don't become a regular customer like we are.
Their takeaways also are very, very popular.

Approximate cost: $14

Fresh and delicious, I had it home delivered too, this was a great, affordable meal. The two curries I had were rich, and well made, with well developed flavours. The Naan and Pappadums were great too, freshly cooked and piping hot!

Approximate cost: $13.00
