I hate to agree with you on this one but the â??powers that beâ?? could certainly use a bit of a shake up. We spent just shy of an hour (in heavy rain) directing traffic to prevent a further traffic accident after a two car pile-up. When the police arrived, they decided to remain in their van, as they didnâ??t want to get wet. We telephoned the senior sergeant to inform him of the risk to public safety however our concern was met with criticism and attitude. He went on to sarcastically ask whether we were personally prepared to go down to the scene of the accident (s) and personally direct traffic. Naturally, we told him that yes, we would continue doing this, if necessary, but took issue with the two officers who were busy sitting in their van instead of doing their job. Good to see oneâ??s taxes at work! (Note sarcasm.)
