Lovely food, casual vibe, great service. Servings are on the smaller side, but make up for it with quality and flavour.

This place has potential.
The food is great - authentic influences, interesting dishes, quality ingredients, proper cooking
The atmosphere is pretty good too - hipster trendy, relaxed and cheerful
I'd say it's perfect for those casual get to together type events. The tapas leaning menu is perfect for this. They have lots of vegetarian options too.
The only downside, was the service. It can be a little slow, non-existant at times.

Had coffee here with a friend on a Friday night... this is more of a bar/nibble place rather than somewhere to have a coffee and a chat. Food smelt nice and would be a good place for a rowdy dinner get together/drinks but it wasn't for us. Service was inattentive, we had to wait a long time to be served and it took a long time for our coffees to be served. I asked for weak as they didn't have decaf: my coffee was weak but so was my friend's, and she ordered a regular flat white. Hardly any froth on my cappucino and too milky. Disappointingly warm not hot either. I drank it in about 3 minutes flat, and my friend didn't drink hers at all as it was far too weak and we couldn't find anyone to serve us another one or even pay. We were cramped up at the bar on stools right in front of the coffee machine so it was not as if we were in a back corner away from staff. Disappointing for coffee, I think it would be ok for a loud get-together.

Approximate cost: $3.50 coffee

Authentic Sicilian meals. Waitresses are very friendly and courteous. Many times we have returned and still order more of less the same dishes. Never had enough of Idda and the baked fish is delicious!

I have been to Bar Idda so many times and each time it is just an effortless, delicious, relaxed experience. I wished the same staff were on more often because after so many visits, a bit of recognition would be nice. Still, I'll be back.

Great Italian food - Sicilian influence. small restaurant, so 'cozy' and loud. The produce is wonderful and fresh Delicious food is served. restaurant? No. But great nonetheless.
Service is great. The mains dont come with greens or salad, so you need to order those if you are big eater. i had the lamb cutlet, really tasty - but i needed more. we had a fantastic pea and pancetta salad with some sort of grain - the highlight.
would happily recommend, may not rush back though - so much great food in Melbourne, once tried i thinks its going to become a bit of a 'local'.

Approximate cost: $19

Bar Idda is a sicilian tapas place which does great homestyle Italian food. The food isn't revolutionary but it is very tasty! The menu is small and is in italian so we enlisted the help of the wait staff to explain many of the dishes. Luckily they were fantastic! Service is top notch. A little bit pricy but worth it!

Approximate cost: $20
