I had walked past this place plenty of times but finally stepped inside on the weekend and was very impressed. It is a nice homely style Italian joint offering great comfort food. My porchetta was beautiful with a great range of veggies and my wife's duck risotto was also superb. The kids loved their pasta and although the cannoli wasn't as good as I've had in my hometown of Ingham the accompanying ganache was beautiful.

After trying out a number of Italian restaurants in Surfers, this was by far the best place we dined at. We were welcomed by staff, seated and given our menus promptly. They are open for all meals, but their dinner menu was what impressed us the most. Amongst our table, pizza, pasta, lamb and seafood dishes were all ordered with pastas coming out on top. The lamb was cooked well and pizzas, generously topped. Bar Italia is a little pricier than its surrounding Italian restaurants, but they do deliver great tasting, decent sized portions. The only downfall was waiting almost an hour for our dishes to come out- but we were definitely pleased with what was presented.
