I really enjoyed my meal at the Barker. The food was well presented and tasty but quite expensive. Lovely decor but not the place for an intimate dinner (it's rather large and noisy). We were fortunate to experience good service because my friends knew the waitress.

This is a difficult review. The newly refurbished hotel definitely has massive WOW factor in its interior. Its absolutely stunning. You need to have a drink there just to see the saloon bar area. We ate in the bistro. Oh dear, it wasn't good service. The food was good but the service was beyond a joke. In fact we actually left laughing at some of the goings on. We didn't get what we ordered, the lady next to us didn't even get lunch, then they bought her the wrong thing, people got desserts before mains, they forgot most of our drinks orders and when they did remember they took FOREVER! It was a really quiet day in there. Only about 6 tables of people and plenty of staff. Maybe they just need better procedures or something. Will try again, its such a shame, it has great potential.
