I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years but it has now gone seriously downhill. We had a reservation booked for six people (for a birthday) to dine inside the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant five minutes prior to our booked time it was to be told that our reserved table had accidently been given to some "walk in" customers. After being unsuccessfully offered to be seated at a bar area for our meal we were seated out on the footpath in front of the next door shop. The wait staff then proceeded to haphazardly set the table with cutlery for five of the six guests. Menus eventually arrived and drink orders taken. Drinks came out in dribs and drabs. Finally our mains arrived, the sixth guest had to ask for some cutlery. As it was quite dark where we were sitting we politely asked the waiter if he could light the two candles that were on our table. He replied that he was too busy to do so. That was the last time we saw any wait staff for the evening. After finishing our main meal we waited some considerable time expecting for our dirty plates to be removed and the dessert menu to be offered and to be able to order a second round of drinks. This did not occur. Two of our party had ordered the platter for two meal which included dessert for two. The desserts were not served. After waiting a lengthy time I went inside the restaurant to pay for our meals and asked to speak to the person in charge. When I discreetly tried to explain to her my concerns regarding the lack of service associated with our meal she said that she was busy and suggested that I telephone her the next day. While the main meal food was satisfactory it was nowhere near the standard of previous years and the wait service was appalling. We will certainly not be dining there again.

This place attempts to be a very comprehensive German Restaurant but for mine it falls short in it's lack of choice. There are not very many options for meals and I sort of expected more. I chose for my dinner the Jager snitzel which in my view is the tastiest option. The other meals just didn't stack up. The snitzel was beautiful and tasted very well made. Price was ok and I enjoyed my meal. The restaurant is far too cramped though and I would have enjoyed a bit more room. I think it's an ok choice for dinner but you can't rest success on one meal and I really feel that this place relies to heavily on it's snitzel. Don't get me wrong it's good but you need variety and I just don't see it here.

Bavarian Blue is a fine choice for authentic german cuisine but I feel it lacks in a few areas. The good first of all is the tasty meals. I chose the Jager Snitzel and by far this would be my 1st choice. It tasted beautiful and the staff were very friendly/chatty. The price was good too. Now for the bad (only small I guess but I feel I need to mention). The restaurant is very small, I felt very cramped in. The other whilst the food is good, I just didn't feel there was enough of a selection. Overall I would say nice, but could be alot better with some minor adjustments.

Bavarian Blue is a true german treat, the food is amazing but the atmosphere is amazing, it's quite cosy. On that though I would also say the place is a bit cramped at times. On a saturday it can get busy along the main strip where this wonderful restaurant is located. You won't be dissapointed.

The chicken with macadamia nuts had beautiful flavours. My partner had the schnitzel and was happy with it. Service was good. Great sized meals
