I’m a local who has been eating here for 15 years. Last order the fish was around 2mm thick with a 2.5mm layer of batter each side. Ever since new owners have purchased it’s gone backwards. Hamburgers and steak sandwiches are now disgusting. Chips and potato cakes are still ok. But unless you want your fish cut by a surgeon with a scalpel don’t bother. Can’t see the store lasting too much longer as far as locals go anyway. They’re just ripping us off. Such a shame used to be a great store until early 2023.

We but their fish and chips, potato cakes and burgers regularly and have always been satisfied with the quality and service.

Coming home from a country trip and stopped in here for tea. This little town only has one main street and one fish and chip take-away shop so I guess you take it or leave it.

The fish itself was quite nice but certainly not to rave about but the chips were not that great at all - maybe the end of the day's lot or something. And hardly any salt on it. They did ask and were told to add salt but it didn't taste like it. They were quite nice and friendly though.

Maybe a little more expensive than some. So it hit the spot when we were hungry and I guess I would go back at a different time of day to see if it things improved.

Approximate cost: $30 for two people.
