The coffee here is very good. A quirky and interesting venue. This cafe/curio and collectables shop/gallery is bright, light and inviting. The owner and staff have a hospitable manner, as if their customers were guests, which is nice. I repeat, excellent coffee. I was with people who had hot chocolate which they reported was great too. The scones were fresh and fluffy (broken, not cut, scone snobs take note). It is a very good place to break your journey. In addition to a good cafe it has clean attractive toilet facilities. Besides taking refreshments the opportunity to look around provides entertainment. The decorated egg as art form defies my descriptive abilities but the gallery displays, not just painted eggs but worked into fantasy scenes and decorated eggs, inspired by Faberge, encrusted with “jewels”. Further to the subject of refreshments, the proprietor told me that the businesses of Beaufort took their catering seriously enough to have done barista training. This is not a hick joint serving wishy washy caterers' swill. This is competitive with sophisticate Melbourne.

Stayed at this motel on New Year's Eve when we were going to a sailing competition in Portarlington. The room was clean and very comfortable and even though a party night, the motel and town was very quiet. The manager's were friendly and welcoming
