We have been taking our pets here for 12 years. Always very satisfied with the level of care they have received. We had to have our 19 year old cat put down 2 years ago which was incredibly traumatic and they were really wonderful, very caring and sensitive. All of the staff are lovely. Really recommend them. I feel totally confident with the care of my pets in their hands.

My dog was hit by a car in the afternoon, we rushed her to the closest vet until she was stable and then took her to our usual vet, their xray machine wasn't working so they referred us to an emergercy after hours vet who quoted close to $2000 for initial treatment and were told they would only stabalise her until she was well enough to go to her usual vet. In desperation I rang my daughter who told us about the vet Peter at South Belgrave, we rang him and hetold us to bring her staright in, he was able to xray her without an anesthetic and treat her damaged leg. Peter is a confident professional and put our mind at ease, the rest of the staff were wonderful and caring, they could see we were distressed by the run around we had experienced prior to getting there and they were gentle and kind to our sweet little dog. After our harrowing ordeal of trying to find a vet to help us it was such a relief to finally end up in the safe hands of Peter and his staff. I can't recommend this vet clinic highly enough, they were fantastic!

Approximate cost: $270

I have used belgrave south vet for about 13 years for my cats, dogs, goats, guinea pigs and ponies. I have given them possums and birds to fix, straying dogs to identify and return to their owners, From pregnancies and births thru everything from accidents to elderly care. Sensible practical advice about options of treatment and costs. If they can't fix it they will find out what can.Absolutely the first stop for any advice or even just go in and ask. They help you to do your own basic treatments and post trauma care if you are up for it, although cleaning post operative drain lines was a lot of yukky stuff. You just can't cope without a good solid vet for your drama's..!

Sounds like a wonderful place and a vet to get to know and keep for a lifetime. Thanks for the info.

They helped my dog through his cancer journey - diagnoses, surgery, treatment & final goodbye. I chose them because of the care they give to wildlife. The puppy school is great, the staff friendly and they don't make you feel like a machine. Even better is when you see the vets at your shops, they don 't ignore you.

They do a great range of services and always offer helpful advise. They explain any costs before treatment. They also take time to know your name and your pets name. They are open until 8pm weekdays and both Saturday and Sunday mornings so its easy to get an appointment outside of standard business hours.
