I needed to buy some special flowers for a friend, to take to her housewarming party. I was delighted to find Birchbox Flowers in Yarraville still open on a Saturday afternoon at about 4.45pm. The florist greeted me warmly and gave me time to choose the right flowers. She put my choice of flowers together in a unique and beautiful bouquet. It was perfect!

At last there is an exceptional florist in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Birchbox Flowers is a delight to visit. This tiny shop is always filled with a galaxy of unusual flowers and quirky plant material that is always good quality. Everything I have bought from Birchbox has lasted well. The friendly staff are true artists. Every detail of their bouquets has been beautifully thought out. Even a simple bunch will be wrapped with gorgeous wrapping, or a stunning bouquet will be made up in an antique vase. The little ' cup cakes' made of tiny flowers are exquisite and the perfect gift to take to a dinner party. I also like the fact that the staff are genuinely interested to learn more about the plant material they are using. The bunch they made up for me to give to a professional gardener friend was such a hit. Sometimes I only buy one flower or just pop in to admire their display and the staff are always welcoming. I buy fresh flowers for my home each week, it is a small luxury that brightens my mood every day. I have a modern home and I like things that are quite contemporary and I am so delighted that Birchbox has opened in Yarraville. Instead of the usual lillies and roses, they have a gorgeous selection of exotic, unusual and old fashioned blooms and foliage. I literally cant decide what flowers to choose it week. When the staff realised that I prefered things like lotus pods or fig branches, they actually looked for more unusual varieties for me at the market on the days that I usually came into the shop. The weeks where my budget is stretched I know that I can buy a gorgeous single spider orchid stem for $5 (the cost of a cup of coffee). I adore this local shop and its lovely knowlegable staff and I cant recommend it highly enough.
