Blackbird Cruises

I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys history - to be honest the Maribyrnong river is not the most scenic place to do a cruise - it's pleasant enough but what makes this is that the owner knows the river and its history inside out. He is a facinating guy and has even one an OBE. I have now done both cruises (docklands and maribyrnong) although I was the only one on the docklands one, with my 4 year old nephew) so we didn't do the usual thing. He took my nephew to look at the big boats and let him drive the boat which of course was a highlight for him and he even got a certificate.
The owner is getting on and I really wonder how much longer he can do this for. His son is involved but doesn't have the same passion for the river. Do this now while the master is still at the helm!
