I have eaten at Blue Dish on at least 6 occasions and have found it a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the food is great, other times it's not. I had the corn fritters on one occasion and they were burnt. On another occasion I had the scrambled eggs and couldn't eat most of them, as there was a lot of uncooked egg white still in the dish. When I mentioned this to the waiter, I was told to ask them to be cooked more next time! When paying, the chef was terse and said that's the way he always cooks his scrambled eggs and I should ask them to be cooked more next time. Who wants raw egg white in their scrambled eggs???? The coffee is just ok. But their pastry products are delicious. They are not open on Mondays and beware, they can get very busy at lunch time, so be early or you could miss out on a table.

Went here for breakfast with a friend. From the front, the cafe looks very small but they have a room at the back with more tables (though the tables were very, very close together and I sometimes felt as though I imposing on another groups conversation just because I was sitting so close to them...!) They were really busy when we arrived (10am) but the service was still fantastic. I had the Pacific breakfast, which consists of salmon, poached eggs, baby spinach on a slice of toasty sour dough and hollandaise sauce. Everything was divine, though I thought the hollandaise sauce lacked a bit of flavour.

Overall, very happy with my experience at Blue Dish. Will definitely be back! Great little breakfast place in Highett and it's around 5 mins away from Southland! Ample parking on the small side streets as well.

The food in this place is fantastic! I love that everything is made on site. Coffee can be iffy, but is mostly good. Service is a little bit lax on super busy days, which is understandable. The food can get pricey, but it's quality stuff and I don't mind paying extra for it. Love the sunny little corner too. Thanks for giving me my caffeine n sweet tooth fix!

This is a gorgeous little cafe in Highett (there aren't too many around). Blue Dish make a lovely coffee and have street side seating which is great on a nice day. Food is always fantastic but can be a bit on the expensive side, however they do have pies and pastries if you don't want to order off the menu.

Approximate cost: $18

After working in the city for ten years this place was my saviour for decent coffee after having a child. Best I've found in bayside, can get very busy and food is notoriously good. (Would've given them 5 stars overall but don't want it to get any busier)!
