The Blue Ginger has a contemporary feel to it. Food is quite nice, especially the chicken breast with chilli jam and basil. It literally melted in my mouth. Very nicely presented too.

This is maybe the best place to eat at in Balmain. The restaurant is classy, with nice interior design and offers Asian food. It's a nice change from all the steakhouses and pizzerias around. The extensive menu gives the needed variety for a lovely experience.

This restaurant amazed me. My boyfriend & I ate there for a celebratory dinner, and it redefined how delicious food can be for both of us! We started with the Chicken wontons and plum sauce, then shared Singaporean chilli prawns with snow peas with steamed rice for our first main - this was delicious. We even considered we were close to full and so far the food had been spectacular. Then our slow braised boneless Angus beef ribs with chilli tamarind sauce and cucumber relish arrived (which is a Blue Ginger favourite). One bite into this and we both stared at eachother open-mouthed. This was the most tender yet crispy, flavoursome, and succlent meat either of us have ever eaten. Eating this meal alone would be worth it's price of $28. Overall out meal with wine was less than $100 and we were full, satisfied and exceptionally impressed!

Excellent food and great service. And they are very accommodating when/if you arrive late at night. One time I arrived at 9.15pm with a party fo four and they were very happy to seat and feed us. Excellent Balmain institution!

Blue Ginger offers a large variety of dishes that are ideal for sharing. Service is attentive and fast enough for an early week night catch up with friends. The salt and pepper calamari was so good we had to order a second helping. We probably didn't need it but the desert platter was enjoyed by all.

I don't like spicy Asian food but the kitchen and staff help prepare a meal which makes the dining experience tasty and pleasurable. The professional service is friendly with good timing. The price trades a bit on its reputation but not outrageously. There are a few outdoor tables but they don't really work.

Awesome food, especially the banquets. food comes quickly and is always delicious.
