A few weeks ago we went there for breakfast, my son ordered sausage, bacon and hash brown it took only 5 minutes to arrive, the sausages were reheated it was dry and the bacon was over cooked overall it was horrible we could tell that it was not made fresh , the coffees were cold and had not taste at all!!! The waiter was sweating so much and it wasn't even hot, he kept wiping his face and forehead with his hands and then touching the plates and serving the customers, disgusting!!!! We will never go back to this place, is one star cafe

My friends and I decided to visit the newly renovated food strip at Stocklands Wetherill Park. The renovation was astounding and there were many great options, though we eventually decided on a homely looking cafe called Blue Star Cafe conveniently located next to Hoyts. We should not have chosen this cafe.

Our experience with the table serviced was mixed. The waiter who took our order was very charming and friendly, though there was an obvious lack of such charm and friendliness in the entire restaurant when our order took unprecedentedly long to be taken. On the other hand, our experience with the food was less positive than mixed. First of all, our orders arrived unmatched to what we had ordered, with our rare steak extremely well done, and our toasted steak sandwich very thoroughly untoasted. Furthermore, we do not recommend ordering the steaks unless you expect your steaks to resemble a cross between a schnitzel and a pancake. Our happier experience with the food included frugally composed burgers for a price that was not for the frugal, a particularly uninspiring sausage sandwich, and a chicken schnitzel seasoned well enough for the most well nourished person to develop hyper tension.

Alas, we finally understand the name Blue Star Cafe. The lack of plurality accurately represents the rating that this place strives for with it's caliber of service and food: a single blue star.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. Table service is almost non existent, especially when the somewhat waitress doesn't put your order down. Air conditioner was pumped up so it was freezing...my husbands meal was cold and almost frozen just waiting for my non existent order to not come to the table. Atmosphere is terrible. Extremely unpleasant experience.

Service is lacking, menu is sufficient, but meat dishes arent the best quality. Chips and a burger with a milk shake is the go here. Good for a quick stop if you have kids, or just want a cappucino and sweets.

Blue star has been around for many years, located at wetherill park stockland mall, and right across from the hoyts movie theatre.
I tend to goto a variety of cafes here but when I goto blue star it is usually for a cake and cuppacino for myself, there is not a huge range but it is sufficient and fresh.
Sometimes my son will have chips and a milkshake and the portions are fair for the price.
It does have a good atmosphere, usually there are a lot of people dining here.

Approximate cost: $12-20

Great cafe if you are wanting to have a fresh light meal & coffee without the huge price tag. Service is good & food is quite nice. Recommended :)

I have been here 2 times. The first time, we ordered steaks and while the value was good, the steaks themselves were overcooked and tough. The 2nd visit was worse. The waitress was rude right from the start. We ordered water to start and it arrived hot with no ice. After I placed my order with the waitress and said "thank you" she scowled at me like I had kicked her puppy! She turned around and walked away without a word. Needless to say, I didn't stay for the meal. I won't be going back.

The Blue Star Cafe reminds me of a small diner within a truck stop. The menu is very very simple and looks like any cook would have no problem what so ever making each meal. The upside to this is consistency and the downside can sometimes be boring and unsatisfying.

Please do not take this as a complaint or bad review.

The food is satisfactory although no wow factor except the generous portions. The service is as expected - I have never found staff to be rude but the few times I have been here I have never experienced an excited, talkative, happy chappy waitress. The prices are reasonable, there are regular specials available and the coffee is ok.

My main reason for returning to this cafe is it provides a good atmosphere to relax and talk, most meals are generous portions and it is right next door to the cinemas.

If your a cafe connoisseur who enjoys fresh produce, delightful ingredient combinations and exciting dishes steer clear of this cafe. But I do recommended for a quick, filling, cheap, catch up lunch.

Approximate cost: $9.90-$19.90

Been here many times - good if you want simple but tasty food and consistent service. Their chicken caesar salad is good but you need a big appetite
