I don't think I've ever heard a bad word about these guys. Always busy and always on point. Food is exceptional here as is the service. They have a chicken sandwich for lunch to die for.

I come here as I was in the area visiting my uncles and checking out his new place.
We checked out lots of places on the way but in the ended decided to go here to Blue Tongue We walked there from his place had a look at the menu and were pleased with what they had on offer and were hungry so we stayed and ordered some drinks and food there are different mixed juices, coffees, wines and other alcoholic beverages on offer,
Mum ordered an iced coffee which she enjoyed dispite a slight bitterness it had.
My Uncle and I ordered juices which were nice but needed ice so we asked and they delivered.
Mum ordered the waffles with butterscotch sauce, bananas, cream everything on that plate was just divine.I was ready to eat the whole place myself I didn't but I did sneak in a few forks of it and fell in love.
I ordered the brioche pork belly benedict which was yummy but I asked if there was crackling the waiter went to check with the kitchen and he came back to say there was and I could have extra but when I got the dish there was no crackling what so ever was so ever :( . So that a was a bit disappointing but none the less I still enjoyed my meal.
My uncle loved his sandwich and polished it off pretty quickly and happily.
I had to have something sweet so I ordered the greek donuts with were covered in honey, pistachios and a delicious chocolate sauce. They were delish.
Overall a great place to come for food and or a drink.
I must say the the meals came out incredibly quick.
The seats are quite uncomfortable.
Lovely cafe,lovely area.
Will be back.

Nice outdoor seating area, inside pretty average, food and coffee was probably above average but the service was terrible. There were two waitresses on duty who were either over worked and stressed or just miserable people. I felt as though we were just a pain and extra work that they didn't want and it was actually a relief to get out of there.

The experience at Blue Tongue is always very good. The service and quality of food is above average. It's great for brunch, lunch, dinner, and just for a drink and snacks. Current magazines and newspapers are available to browse.

Great dining options. We sat outside under the warmth of an overhead heater. Service was good and unobtrusive. However, when we engaged the waitress to ask about certain ingredients she was more than happy to stop for a chat and ask the very obliging chefs what spice or cheese they used in particular dishes (the food was so good we had to ask). The tasting plate was sublime and a good indication of what the restaurant's chef is best at. We ordered both the tasting plate and mains at the same time but next time, no matter what the restaurant, I would order the tasting plate before ordering mains. Luckily for us our mains and sides were just as good. Great Cajun Atlantic salmon with beuree blanc sauce and duck ragout. Suggest trying the long bean, fetta and roast baby beet salad - really interesting flavours. Good choice of wine list

Approximate cost: $28
