Tim and Amanda are very knowledgeable, and can help with everything from the latest releases to ancient and rare tomes. They also run events with fabulous chefs and authors, including food and wine, so it is worth being on their mailing list!

Beware - this Aladdin's cave will tempt you - no matter how many cookbooks you have, you'll always find at least one more at Books for Cooks; and if it's only one, consider yourself lucky!

Tim's knowledge of his world and his shop are encyclopaedic, this, combined with a happy knack of making you feel you're his No.1 customer, make Books for Cooks a must-visit, and if, like me, you live outside the city, no problem, the advice is freely given and postage isn't a problem...making it even more dangerous!

From the moment you enter the door BFC is like a meal all in itself. From deep rich tomes of culinary lore to the sweet meats of specialty cookbooks and the luscious subtlety of wine compendia. The breadth of so many cuisines and the depth of volumes to match every skill level. And if it isn't on the shelf the team will always know what is available and get you a copy.
