Shameful. Dishonest.

This business is the very worst type that you’re likely to come across in your lifetime. They’ll take your money and never build you a fence. They’ll make promise after promise and never honour anything.

We paid our deposit at the beginning of August with the promise of a 5 week start date. At the 5 week mark we started receiving one dubious excuse after another. Supplier shortages, when there were actually none, staff issues, you name it. Turns out the positive reviews left on numerous sites were fraudulent reviews left by the business itself. They used this to deceive people so that they could take tens of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting families.

Our job has never been completed, just like many, many others. They refuse to complete the work and no longer answer their phones or emails. They won’t return our deposit.

This fence was to be built for elderly mother, to give her some peace and privacy as she battles cancer. Instead, this business stole thousands of dollars from her and will not return it. They are the very worst and it’s an incredibly tragic thing to do to anyone.

Approximate cost: $18000

- quoted and assured us it could be done quickly (retaining wall and colorbond fence)
- insisted on 60% deposit "to cover materials"
- showed up and ripped the backyard up and left it without any safety fencing and trash/building rubbish everywhere which is extremely unsafe *came back over 40hrs later to install half the safety fence.
- kept assuring us they would "show up the next day" and still haven't 10 days later
- won't take our calls and admin keep fobbing us off
- we asked for receipts for the products they've apparently ordered for us and despite saying they'd provide them they haven't.
- no deliveries, no rubbish removal and certainly no new retaining wall or fence
- all we have from this engagement aka "contract" is a destroyed back yard and nothing else
- this company is an absolute sham

I organised with Brisbane Fencing and Decking in May 23 to have a 10m fence and electric gate installed at the end of June 23. They requested the deposit of $5400 to be paid which I did now regrettably. The end of July they came and installed the wrong fence. Few weeks later they came back and put the right fencing up however we are still waiting for the gate to be installed. Admin never have answers for us of when it's going to be completed and its always next week, but they never turn up. I've tried to contact the admin person but however they have quit due to the business being poorly run. Brisbane Fencing and Decking will not return my calls or reply to my texts. It's now 18th of October with no gate and no communication as to when this will be completed. We live on a busy road and had planned for the fence and electric gate to be installed prior to moving in because we have 2 small children.

I have contacted the QBCC and Master Builders and gave them all the details.

Brisbane Fencing and decking agreed to build me a 12.5m Hamptons style PVC fence within 3 weeks of payment.
After 6 weeks I started to worry. I phoned many times to be told ‘tomorrow’ but tomorrow never came.
QBCC is the best source of information as they can tell you how much you need to pay to start a job and how much to NOT pay.
My job was started but they didn’t allow for the block slope so the fence was 22cms from the ground in part. It was determined that the fence wasn’t going to work because I chose the wrong profile. I am many things, but I am not an expert in fencing. I expected I could choose the look I wanted, and Brisbane Fencing and Decking would take care of the details
I wish that I had done more checks and balances before engaging Brisbane Fencing and Decking. I should have checked the QBCC website more thoroughly against the business name and not relied on the number quoted on my invoice.
If you ask QBCC they will advise you of their guidelines and DO NOT PAY FOR MATERIALS before they are delivered. I was told I had to pay 48 hours after agreeing to the price only to not have my materials for 6 weeks. I had to fight for 3.5 months to get a refund only after the QBCC intervened.

I believe that this business is all smoke and mirrors, buyer beware.
