I am conflicted as to how to review this surgery. I went a few years ago and saw an incredibly rude doctor - I needed a script and couldn't remember the strength of the inhaler. He looked at me with contempt and said "well, that's a bit like going to a doctor and asking for a white pill, isn't it". I was dumbfounded - couldn't get out of the place quick enough. And then when I got to the pharmacist to actually get the medication, found that he had given me a script for the WRONG medication anyway.

However, I went again last week (only because the surgery down the road was completely booked out) and saw a lovely doctor, Dr Mundae. He was very nice, and my husband mentioned that he also saw this doctor recently and thought he was fine - all you need for a simple consult.

HOWEVER. The receptionist was extremely rude. She was gruff and rude to me, but was caustic in her manner toward an elderly man who came in after me. He apparently had an appointment to see somebody, and she virtually yelled at him that "they don't work here. ONLY ON MONDAYS." The poor man had obviously called up to make this appointment and whether he had misunderstood, or the receptionist was wrong - it's irrelevant. She was so, so rude to him, yelling at him as if he couldn't speak English and was stupid, it was just horrendous and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I really regret not stepping in. There is just no excuse for such abysmal service, particularly in a medical centre.

Hi Alkhe, thanks for such a detailed review. Given that any prescription medication can be found on-line or via your pharmacist (if it is a repeat prescription), there was no need for the doctor in question to be so rude. If he had of taken an additional minute (or two) to do his job properly, you could have departed happily with the correct prescription in toe. As far as the â??rudeâ?? receptionist goes, such ignorance appears to be a prerequisite for obtaining (and retaining) employment in these establishments. She ought to keep in mind two important things: 1. It is the public who pays for her employment. 2. She will be elderly herself one day and would (presumably) like to be treated with the respect that every human deserves. Thank you kindly for your concise review. Reeces

Doctors here are okay, but the reception staff are so rude that I won't consider going here again, even though it's the closest surgery to me.

I've seen them being incredibly condescending to elderly patients and awfully abrupt to even the most simple requests. Have never seen medical reception staff being so neglectful.

I also had the misfortune of having to see a nurse here, who was so nasty that I didn't go back for follow-up treatment.

I gave this place multiple chances, thinking maybe they'd get better. Never again.

I totally agree - was just about to write my own review with the same comment about the receptionist that I encountered last week.

Hi Cat8, itâ??s so sad to see sick, elderly people being treated in a disrespectful manner and we strongly encourage every member of the public who sees such abuse to intervene. We would also like to encourage those who have experienced such unprofessionalism to take the appropriate steps in lodging a formal complaint. At the end of the day, every business should be held accountable for their actions. Terrible service here by the receptionists. I've been here three times now (never again) and every time the reception staff have been extremely dismissive to customers.

I understand that a doctor's reception can be busy, but I've never seen staff treat patients (who are often sick) with such contempt.

None of the three doctors I've seen here have been good enough to get me back.

This clinic has the best receptionists, (Dora and Diane) in the world. They give you an estimation of when you'll be seen so you don't have to hang around if you've got more than half an hour to wait. Doctors are up to date with the latest in medical advancement, in particular Dr Lee and his elder sister, Dr Swee Lee. These are dedicated doctors who work hard and put medicine before golf.

This is the worst medical centre i have ever been to in terms of patient service,

The 2nd time i went the Dr i wanted to see had resigned, (i should have took that as a warning sign)
The 3rd time i went the receptionist told me that there were no drs on in for the day but that it still had to remain open.

The fourth time i went it was full i couldnt even see a dr if i waited.

This is terrible and was very annoying. I dont recomend anyone go here ever you will probably be just wasting your time and some of the desk staff are obnoxious and rude.

Dr Zebic did NOT resign. She was on a 5yr suspension (again - 4th or 5th time since 1999) for multiple unethical behaviours, mainly regarding her ongoing drug use & untreated psychiatric problems. All of this is a matter of public record under VCAT publications online.

The centre is well run, has doctors of a high calibre who have a sense of social justice. That is, they are prepared to work for medicare fee for low income earners and pensioners. The receptionists (who are also qualified nurses) are friendly, efficient and seem to exceptionally well under pressure.
