I have been a member of (Until recently HBA. Now BUPA) since early 1980's.

I have a simple cheap dental claim, which I filled via their website. When the refund didn't reach my bank account a few days later, I phoned them and was told there was an error with my banks BSB number, and that a digit was missing off it, and they would have to trace where the money had gone.

After thinking about this information later on, I found it a little strange because realising a missing digit off a banks BSB number should have automatically been rejected, hence their records should have shown this.

Anyway, after 5 different phone calls over a 30 day period, and a different Rep. every time I called telling me the same story, I started to get a little peeved.

I have since contacted the Ombudsman and they are investigating it, but of course can't do anything until a certain time period has elapsed without the health fund resolving it.

My claim was submitted on the 21 June 2012 and it is now the 3rd of August 2012 and I still have no more information on my refund.

UPDATE: 06/08/2012 - I finally got my rebate today but only because of the ombudsman complaint I made.
