Enjoyed the 'Menu 2' which provided a vast selection of different dishes. A few (the fish salad, and something else, which I'm not sure what it was) tasted a little heavy with the fish sauce, so were overly salty and I just couldn't eat them.
The rhubarb compote for dessert was lovely. I enjoyed a mocktail- pineapple cooler.
The wait staff were efficient. My water glass was constantly being topped up.
Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary at Burma Lane, and we are so glad we did! We had an absolutely delicious dinner, and the Manager Fraser and great servers Matt and Lilly looked after us so lovingly! They gave us complimentary champagne to congratulate our anniversary, paid great attention to detail (eg. they noted the fact I'm vegetarian so removed fish sauce from a dish and replaced with another), and dished up wonderfully yummy food with a brilliant mix of flavours & textures. Highlights? The tea leaf salad was FANTASTIC and their paratha is like the Asian croissant! I've never (ever!) had this good of bread in any Indian/Asian eatery - it's sooooo ah-maze-zing!. From what we ordered (Betel leaf, Pork Skewers, Sweet Potato Samosa, Tea Leaf Salad, Beef picked curry, Turmeric Curry, rice, bread and a cheesecake for desert) - it seems Burmese food (savoury side at least) is a bit on the bitter/sour/sharp side. But overall, fresh ingredients and flavours that pack a punch! Our even was topped off with constant attention and courtesy! Highly recommended - great place to go -- be it for a business chat over a snack, catching up with friends, or an intimate dinner with your hubby! :D

Simple decor and great atmosphere.. The food was ok.. the well balanced in portion - not too light not too heavy.. the service was pretty good - attentive and well knowledge staff .. however...well, i think the food is overprice.. not too sure if im goin back..
At the price point, the serving sizes tend towards the petite spectrum. Some main dishes (ie. curry) are very small and designed to be ordered with rice. Even the salads/vegetable dishes were small compared to other restaurants in the area ie. $14 vegetarian salad served in a small-mid sized rice bowl. Serving sizes aside, the quality of the food was good. Flavours and execution of the style was also good, although not attention grabbing.
Atmosphere and service levels were sub-par. For a bistro charging these prices in an area with competition closely by, one would expect better and more personal service, either more reasonable servings or more stylized cuisine. The additional charge (donation to the house charity) which is casually included onto the bill without even courtesy mention by the waiter was also slightly offensive.
Approximate cost: $28
