My first time returning since the refurbishment last week, it was very busy for breakfast service. My scrambled eggs and toast were ok, the eggs tasted like they'd been fried in the pan as they were hard and had the hard/flat bottom like they had been cooked at an extremely high heat and hadn't been turned, more likie an omelette/pancake. The service wasn't great, after waiting so long for our meals we wanted to stay for a coffee but couldn't get someone to serve us.
Gave it another chance, but won't b going back. The table next to us said the exact same thing

Cafe 117 is a bit of a stalwart on Swan St, and if you haven't been past in the past 12 months or so, you might not recognise it. They've renovated it, and not that their original lay out was poor but they've vastly improved the feel of the cafe in my opinion. They've put in a big communal table, which I love, and opened up some space. Since there were only a few of us in the cafe at the time it did feel a tad empty but I imagine that space would feel just right on a busy weekend morning.

Coffee here is pretty good, but not the best I've had. What's really great here is the Lebanese fusion food, it's brilliant. I had the smashed peas, which is a perennial favourite of mine and I was not disappointed.

Service left a little to be desired but that didn't phase us too much. Our coffees and meals arrived promptly so we were happy campers!

Fantastic cafe.

The menu has been changed within the past few months which I didn't think could be improved upon but actually has! I can only speak for breakfasts but as well as your usual types of breakfasts they also offer breakfasts middle eastern style - I had pancakes Atoyif which were absolutely delicious. This is coming from someone who usually sticks to what I know - it was nice to have as a change from a traditional breakfast.

Lovely staff. The only thing that could be improved upon that I noticed is their high chairs - they have a couple of them but the straps don't work which isn't good if a baby can't quite sit without that bit of support or if the child is fidgety!

this is/was one of my favourite breakfast places in my local area. their vegetarian big breakfast is huge and rewarding. they are happy to trade in one item for another if you dont happen to like something in the breakfast. unfortunately the service the last few times i have been here has been terrible. the coffee is also great!

Approximate cost: $15
