The fish here, both grilled & fried, was the best I've eaten in years! Super fresh, tasted incredible! We got potato cakes & dum sums also, & they were perfectly cooked & again super fresh. The price was great, especially considering other places I the area where the quality was very average. This is our new go to!

This is the first review I have left but this was literally the worst food I have had from a fish and chip shop. Oily and smelly food, chips as dry as cardboard, junior flakes that were as tough as a well done steak I am not even sure what was wrong with it I have never seen fish like that before, everything was disgusting. To make matters worse instead of being apologetic when we came back in they were rude trying to act like we were just trying to get money back. If that was the case we wouldn’t have gone to pier 4 fish in Doreen now to order another $50 worth of fish and chips because we have 3 hungry kids still and I know that they are always great, while I feel sick from the small amount of food I did it from captain cove fish and chips. We will stick with places we know from now on.

Beautiful food always. Fish & chips are not fatty like some shops, awesome Atlantic Cod (rarely available), never wait more than 10 minutes for your order, and the staff are friendly and courteous. Once, by mistake, I arrived right on closing time. Chen says "no problem" still took my order! After 10+ visits - highly recommended.

Yummy The best burgers we have ever had!!! Ordering online was super easy...the food was ready and hot we we got there. Can't wait for takeaway night to come again!!

My inlaws have eaten at Sgt. Baker's in Doreen several times and shouted us lunch yesterday: 3 pieces grilled flake, 1 standard flake, X-large chips, potato cakes and Greek Salad. Everyone loved their fish, and their chips are FAT & CRUNCHY! Not oily - which is perfect! The potato cakes are large and are a cut above the standard type you get elsewhere (we ordered 4 and got 6 - such a nice little surprise!) . The Greek Salad was full of olives & feta (which are usually skimped at other places). Overall very nice, a pleasant experience and will go back again when in the area.

The service is excellent at Sgt Bakers. The burgers are awesome as are the chips. Other fish and chip items appear on par with other fish shops yet rather costly. Overall a great local place for a takeaway gourmet burger!

We love sgt bakers! They do a quality job and all the time! Fish is lovely and fresh and the chips are to die for! Sauces are yum! They are more expensive then most but you go there if you want to know you are getting something made well!

This is a gourmet fish and chippery so don't think your coming here getting some cheap chips and fish of questionable origin and flavour. The staff are friendly. Burgers will set you back about $12 but they are gourmet. They aren't as big as Grill'd burgers but it's nice to be able to get quality out in the sticks! You get a little wood fork with your take away order and the chips are nice and chunky! If you want a gourmet experience and to limit your fat intake this is the place to go....quality not quantity. Fish adn chips and drink will set you back about $10
