I went there with Merryn for Lunch this afternoon and I had a Spaghetti Carbonara and Merryn had a Tortellini Smoked Ocean Trout.

I go there every week and I order the Spaghetti Carbonara with just cream, egg and parmesan. The staff are always nice to me and the service is always amazing so I would definitely recommend coming here for traditional Italian Food since it is the best Italian Restaurant in Melbourne.

Really sweet little restaurant in non-descript location. Service is always good - friendly and attentive staff. Meal portions are substantial. The menu has changed over the years, now favouring more seafood options. But their classic lasagne is still there and it's delicious.

We often get takeaway from Casalinga and have introduced it to lots of our family and friends - the food is always delish with huge portion sizes. We've only had dinner at the restaurant once, and that one time the food was even better than I expected and the staff were lovely. Prices seem about right. Very enjoyable experience especially considering it's an outer-suburban little restaurant :-)

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant. It has real potential but I think they are trying to cram too many people into the restaurant and hence not having enough time and staff to look after their customers. After we sat down were asked to get up again so they could re-arrange the tables to fit more people in. Then it took over an hour to receive our meals and the second round of drinks we ordered never arrived and they tried to charge us for them. They removed the drinks once we kicked up a fuss but it would have never happened if they had of had less customers or more staff on. Food was average - I liked my pasta meal but the girls I was with thought their meals were rather average. I might try Casalinga again one day to see if there has been any improvement but for now I cannot recommend them to anyone over any other restaurant in the area.

An excellent place to take a date. Great food and fantastic service. Highly recommend their Chicken Helvettia and gelati. Their irish coffee is quite nice too.They're a bit too expensive to have on a regular basis, but a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Their staff are super-efficient and very professional.

I enjoyed a night here with my family for my birthday. They were extremely busy but all staff seemed to manage their customers well. The food was nice although I thought could have been better if not so busy.

Just fabulous. The calamari is my favourite and always cooked to perfection. And every time I go I must have the Chocolate Profiterole for desert, it's mouth watering. The staff are always friendly but be prepared: they're popular so they're usually busy and therefore you can be a little rushed.
