We adopted Sylvester (aka Oliver) about 5 weeks ago. He was hissing a lot in the first few days, but we gave him space, played with him and he is a transformed, happy and relaxed cat now - unrecognisable really. The staff at cat haven are wonderful and I command them for doing such a great job with each and every cat. I highly recommend Cat Haven to anyone considering adopting a fur baby :)

How can the Cat Haven get anything less than 5 stars? A non-profit that works tirelessly to support Perth's cat community. Thank you to all the staff that do such a thankless job - you're our heroes!!

The staff at Cat Haven were incredibly helpful when my daughters and I adopted our beautiful kitties. I have an injured back and they even offered to help pack my car for me. Considering that the cats were sterilised, microchipped, defleaed and wormed it was exceptionally good value for money.

I adopted my cat from cat haven a couple of years ago now, and it was a fantastic choice. Cat haven is the best value for money you can possibly find for buying a cat or kitten - hundreds of dollars cheaper than other options, and you're saving a furry little life!

On Thursday the 04/04201 my housemate whom suffers aspergers took my pet cat un beknown to me at the time to the animal shelter.I was under the illusion that my cat had got lost and was missing. My house mate today(Sunday 07/04/2013)seeing me handing out flyers and talking to niehbours then suggested that we go to the Cat Haven however he then told me whilst their that he had bought the cat here to the shelter.
We spoke to the manager to retrieve the cat as I am the legal owner and Ashley had taken the cat their wrongly and at a time of duress from his disability.
I spoke with the manager their and made it clear that I was the legal owner, and that Ashley had taken the cat their unauthorised and had made a mistake. The manager was very, very unhelpfull and would not even inform me after I had proved that I was the legal owner what had happened with my pet!I simply wanted to know if my pet had been put down or had a new home been found for her!
I have since done some research regarding Cat Haven and found that it is listed as a charity orginisation however I have found it to be far from a charity!Ashley and others are asked to make a 20 dollar donation when they drop of unwanted pets their and if one wishes to "adopt"a pet they are then charged between $80-$200 for the pet they choose which has been handed in as unwanted!Furthermore CAT HAVEN has 3 pet shop outlets which is on their website and said pet shops sale to the public pets that have been sourced from Cat Haven who in turn have come in to possesion of these pets from members of the public who have taken them to Cat Haven as no longer wanted pets.
From my research and personal exp I have come to realise that Cat Haven is similar to the Church Of Scientology in claiming to be a charity!
Cat Haven in my view is cashing in on the fact that their is a lot of pets in Perth and surrounding areas whom may become unwanted and have set them selves up legallyas a charity but whom take unwanted pets from their owners and at the same time demand a min of $20 from people handing in their pets and then they out source them to Pet shops. The Pet shops in question are selling the former unwanted pets and you can check their website at Cat Haven for a list of the pet shops and then visit the pet shops websites where they have the prices for the pets that they are selling.Cat Haven would not be giving these former unwanted pets to said pet shops it would most definitely be under commercial arrangement.
My angst is that even after proving to the people at Cat Haven that I was the owner and that my house mate had no right to hand in my pet and I was their only 2 days after he had done so Cat Haven was very unhelpful in corecting the matter nor would they divulge if my pet had been put down, sold ,or found a new home.I believe they would not tell me what had become of my pet as they had sold it and did not want me asking for its return even if I paid over and beyond whatever expenses they may have incured!

In the middle of moving house, last minute I needed to put my cat into boarding kennels. I called up and they told me how much for the time i was leaving her there. They were very helpful and showed me where to go when I arrived. I asked if I could visit her as I was only moving suburb and they said anytime I would like to visit her I could. I was there every day and the staff always smiled and welcomed me again. As I had to extend her stay I asked if I could do this and they said yes. She was very well looked after and enjoyed her time in boarding.

The Cat Haven is fantastic, I had both my cats desexed for around $25 each when they had a special. The staff were so friendly and helpful and took great care of my cats. They also have a great range of cat foods and accessories to choose from. Very happy.

This charity does amazing work. It takes in the majority of unwanted cats in the state and does everything it can in the animals best interests. I recently adopted a black kitten from them and found the staff and volunteers to be extremely helpful and friendly. If anyone else is looking to adopt I would highly recommend visiting the cat haven. They make little if any profit and are a genuine charitable organisation.
