I went to CBK for the first time in May, 2011, using a coupon from the Grab One website. I got a style cut, full head of colour, blow dry, eyebrow tint and eyebrow wax. A fairly comprehensive look at their services.
I walked in with no idea of what to expect, or what I wanted in terms of hair style and colour. The hairdresser was helpful - giving ideas and advice for what would suit me. (And a month later I still LOVE the style and colour). But, once we had decided, she disappeared! It turns out that this is a family business, and the person who does the waxing is her sister. And they love to talk. I mean, LOVE to talk. So for 40 minutes, I was left sitting in the chair, just waiting for her to come back and start. In that time, she did mix up the hair colour so it was ready to go. But it surely didn't take that long to do!
Once she came back, she was fast and efficient, and also careful and thorough. She chatted to me a little, although also talking to her sister and another client. Then she told me that I would have the brow tint and waxing done while the colour set, but again, she and her sister started chatting and they forgot about me!
Once the colour came off (with a scalp massage as well), the cut was done with care. I was very happy with the attention to detail that was given with the hair cut itself. As I've said, I'm still very happy with the result and this is mainly because of the attention that she paid to my lifestyle and what would be suitable for that.
After the style cut and blow dry I was whisked into the waxing area, and was very happy with the service received there. She was friendly, polite, careful and efficient.
Overall - I loved the results of my trip to this salon. But, I believe they need to improve their service. The two people that I dealt with were both professional, helpful, friendly and efficient - BUT, once they got together and started chatting, all this went out the window. A one and a half hour service (I called and asked how long it would take before I booked) took nearly two and a half hours. Very disappointing. On the basis of this, I couldn't recommend them, and I probably won't return, however, the results were so stunning that I am tempted to go back and risk it! Overall, a great salon, great product that needs a lot of improvement in the service area!
