This place is amazing! Overlooks the beach, just an incredible venue. The food was really good and fresh. The wait staff were nice and friendly. Our waiter made a few mistakes but was very polite and rectified the problems. It's a little more expensive but a lovely place to visit! I will definitely go back!

Great experience. A combination of classy, relaxed and peaceful seaside atmosphere, and simple sophistication. The atmosphere at Cerberus hits just the right note, for a classy beachside venue. The food is superb. This is classy dining. And you wouldn't expect anything less, given that the chef hails from a background that has included michelin restaurants and RACV club.
My choices for the night:
Seared scallops with braised ox tail on a bed of celeriac pure, caper berries and rosemary wafers.
12 hour slow cooked Pork belly served with caramelized baby onion bulbs, nasturtiums and confit swede
I also shared the Dessert Sample Plate for 2. This featured an Apricot souffle with raspberry sorbet, Pistachio and olive oil cake served with poached rhubarb & buttermilk sorbet, and a Bitter chocolate mousse with hazelnut feuillentine with candied orange & grand marnier sorbet.
You just have to try it out!!!

I went for for lunch with a group and it was lovely. The room a bright and pretty, and the view over the bay is amazing. The food was very good, with beautiful presentation. It was expensive but worth it. Between us we had the fish and chips, the lamb, the spaghetti with scallops, and the barramundi fillet. The fish and chips and the lamb in particular were delicious. The side order of bread was possibly the best bread I've ever eaten.

We had lunch at Cerberus Beach House last week. It is in a wonderful location, upstairs in a bright, sunny dining room, with views over Port Phillip Bay taking in HMAS Cerberus and distant suburbs. Being a warmish sunny, windless day added to the ambience. The service was attentive and we didn't feel hurried, the waitress happy to answer our questions and explain a few things on the menu. On the menu there were "small plates" options and "large plates" options. We wanted the fish and chips in the small plate option, but were told there were absolutely no variations on any meals.

In this day and age I found this surprising as the other meals could easily be served in smaller sizes. Diners sometimes have dietary requirements e.g. they could have at least one vegan option. The fish and chips were $28 which was a little expensive for just one fillet (although I'm no expert on prices, maybe this is normal). The rockling fish was tasty and came with nice chips and "mushy peas" which seemed an unusual accompaniment. Also a serve of coleslaw and some tartare sauce and lemon slice. We were absolutely full at the end and unfortunately couldn't fit in any of the nice sounding desserts.

Very hesitant to review this publicly in case it becomes too popular. However, the proprietors deserve all the good comments that this restaurant deserves.

The view is the first WOW factor. No matter where your table is located, you will have a view of the ever changing vista. Dining during lunch hour on a cold wintery day saw the rain blow from one side of the bay to the other, providing an ever changing canvas. I can't wait to return in summer when the air is flowing thru the open windows and sun glinting on the sea.

Next; the charming staff provided expert attention, satisfying the fussiest of diners most tactfully. While we were fortunate to be dining on a quiet day, I'm sure that the service standard we received would be replicated during the busiest of times.

The menu choice was not huge, and that meant that what was on offer was able to be selected from small serves and "bigger "plates. I often find that the larger the menu the less the quality.

We will definitely return....may not even wait until the warmer months...other dishes whetted my appetite and I look forward to sampling more of the creative choices.

Approximate cost: $15 - $30
