Friendly, efficient staff; lovely court yard and the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Had a lovely lunch.

Fresh and strong coffee, the breakfast toastie is to die for. Bacon, a fried egg, cheese and dripping with fresh hollandaise. Messy but absolutely delicious.

Simply wonderful. I left very satisfied with the overall experience. To begin with the place presents well with a pleasing backdrop and atmosphere. I love how they manage to create a feeling of spaciousness that can sometimes be lacking at too many melbourne cafes, yet still work in some interesting interior decor touches such as the herittage period household/farm equipment etc that hang against the wall. These are in a nod to CH James, a pioneering gentleman in the northern suburbs during Melbourne's development.
On to the food and beverages, which are inspired, well executed and look fantastic. From lighter options such as the Watermelon with orange blossom, minted yoghurt & granola crumb or Coconut citrus bircher with roasted pistachio & lemon balm, to more substantial plates such as the House cured trout with poached egg, salted fennel, zucchini & dill salad or Butter & Sage infused House Gnocchi with roasted tomato asparagus & broad beans, you are spoilt for choice. The drinks list complements the menu well, and coffee is offered with coconut blossom sugar, lending a light caramelized taste.
