Where to go when you need a pick-me-up after visiting the dentist? Can't eat cake so ... chips and potato cakes! We came here to Charles St Fish and Chips today for lunch. We didn't have fish so can't report on that, but it's at a reasonable price of $4.60 ea.
We had chips, potato cakes, dim sims (both regular and South Melbourne) and chicken nuggets. Total cost, just over $12. Chips were thick cut and crunchy on the outside, potato cakes (we got one free as well) were nicely battered and a good thick slice of potato inside. The nuggets and the dim sims were a touch on the too well done side, which detracted from their enjoyment a little.
Friendly little shop in this end of Seddon shopping precinct. Plenty of street parking. They offer a very large menu including souvlaki, burgers of all kinds including the the very intriguing "prawn burger", chicken schnitzel, toasted sandwiches, and salads. There is also a vege burger option. All ranging from about $3.50 to $5.00 so a very viable lunch/dinner for the family.
Cash only though, no eftpos.
We took our package off with a $2.80 drink from the fridge and ate it in the little park/playground around the corner. A very pleasant lunch experience and certainly put the dentist out of our minds.

Its a pain how smaller shops don't have EFTPOS so you have to make sure you got cash!
Prawn burger, now i am very curious, never heard of it before in a fish and chip shop!!! :)
Yeah, that item intrigued me, that's why I remembered it Prawn burger with lettuce, tomato, raw onion and mayo for $5.00. The Grilled Fish roll with the same salad options sounded good too.
