Friendl staff with always a smile. When we came here it wasn't very busy and there seemed to be shortage of roast potatoes on a Saturday afternoon which seemed odd.

Cheap feed for the family or just for a light snack. They offer your charcoal chicken staples, such as peas, grave, chips, and roast spuds.

Not the most fancy looking place, but good value and snappy service.

This shop is located on a busy corner with a few other shops in a strip but there is parking at the rear off the busy road.

It's roomy inside with tables and chairs and a sort of "old fashioned" counter where there are some foods on offer - chico rolls, satay chicken sticks, etc already cooked. There are menu boards for both fish and chip varieties and for the chicken the shop is named for, and the charcoal chickens are cooking at the back.

It's just a teensy bit grimey but the food looked good, so I ordered a hot chicken roll. There are many other packs and combos you can get for both fish and chicken meals and of course they sell whole and part chickens with chips.

My roll and drink was $7.20 - not bad. But then, it was just that. No mayonnaise, no salad, no gravy - not even any salt. It would have been nice to be asked if I'd like a little something extra since I was the only other customer in there at the time.

The man was quite pleasant and I guess it filled the spot at lunch time but I don't think I'd be rushing to get back if there were other alternatives.

Approximate cost: $10 - 12
