Good food, good space. There is nothing amazing about China Bar, but it is a good chinese option that is cheap and tasty. coconut milkshake and pork dumplings were done well and allowed for a cheap feed

Great fast food asian cuisine. dumplings are nice, noodles are also tasty. I really enjoy their roast duck, roast pork can unfortunately be dry at times. Good if no other option for better food.

Walk away can be awkward, and staff a bit rude

Good Food. Fast service. Revived menu. Bit crowded all the time as it's known among the community. Good ambience. Toilets are to avoid.

I like that these guys are open late at night with full menu options.
Dumplings are quite good, I substitute the normal rice for fried rice and its a lot nicer, their bbq meats look amazing hanging in The window, but are hit and miss to whether they'll be dry or not. I haven't had problems with the prom but the duck is dry.

It's an easy option to tame late night cravings

We received shocking service. A waitress spilled left over drinks from an
adjoining table and it splashed all over us and our table into our food.
The waitress had no idea what to do and when we attempted to sort out a
good solution we were still asked to pay for our food ($49.10). In the end
we only had to pay $40 for our food, after a lot of trouble. We left a lot
of food as we ordered extra to takeaway, which was wasted food. We were
treated terrible. I still cant believe I paid the $40 for food we never
finished, covered in someone else's drink. Whatever happened to customer
service? We left a desert drink untouched (other than by someone else's
drink splashing all over our table). They lost a customer today. Such a
shame, we love the Burwood China Bar Signature. :(

Lunch time menus are hard to beat, great food, even better price. We all ate for under $15 and enjoyed our meals and the speed of services, keep up the good work!

A steaming hot bowl of Chinese soup on a cold, rainy day... what more could you ask for? China Bar Glen Waverley offers an extensive range of soups, noodle and rice dishes, dumplings and entres, and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), so they cater for the entire family. The waiters are friendly and service is great, and the kitchen staff are willing to alter orders to cater for personal taste, allergies, etc. Overall an enjoyable dining experience with really reasonable prices. Definitely would recommend.

My family of three was having dinner at China Bar Kingsway Glen Waverley for the first time, and surprisingly it was a great experience. Prices were reasonably cheap comparing with other Chinese restaurants around that same area. waiters attitude was reaonsable and quality of food were great. I tried the dry roast duck and pork noodle that was great. Only drawback was its spacing and it could be a real concern while hot food was being delivered around.

Decent buffet with plenty of seafood to eat. Help yourself in a nice environment. Plenty of parkings at the back so you don't need to worry about the next big party.

Very busy restaurant/take away with below standard quality, probably due to the amount of people in. Won't be coming here again as food was very bad. I had noodles with seafood and i counted all but 3 prawns!

I actually quite enjoy this place - as a Glen Waverley resident for ~a year I ate there / got takeaway lots of times. My favourite dishes are the roast duck & crispy pork noodle soup (delicious), chicken & sweet corn soup, and their spring rolls (the best I've had in a while). Their beef & black bean is also very nice, and their dumplings are very satisfying. As far as I'm aware, this place doesn't use MSG in their food (but don't quote me on that - it's based on the fact that I usually react badly to MSG, but I'm fine with the food from China Bar). The restaurant layout is a little cramped, but I've never felt like my personal space was being invaded by other guests or staff, and have quite comfortably sat there with friends for a couple of hours. Some of the staff do come across as quite blunt, but I think that's simply due to how busy they are - my one piece of advice would be to make sure you know exactly what you want when you order - being so busy, some of the staff members aren't particularly keen on indecisiveness (especially if you're ordering take-away on the spot). Definitely a good place to go to if you're just wanting a casual, reliable night out - better than the other places on Kingsway in my opinion.

Standard, China Bar material. Same as the other ones in the other locations. Food is cooked fast and portions are decent. However service is limited though, that might be because they are really busy all the time and dont have enough staff.

Nothing special; but good for those who are just looking for a quick solid meal.

We ate at China Bar one rainy night. This restaurant is good if you are pressed for time and want to gulp down your food and exit. It's not the place for you to dry off, enjoy your tea and hot dinner and conversational partner. The interior is crammed with furniture and not at all comfortable.

I ordered the wonton noodle soup, which tasted good thanks to the overuse of MSG. One bite into the wontons makes you suspicious about what is actually in them. My companion had the crispy skin pork on rice, which he rated as borderline satisfactory.

Overall, I would say if you're looking for a cheap Asian meal, try one of the other restaurants in Kingsway.

Ill sum this up quickly! Worst service with no respect for the customer. Over charge you if they can without you knowing. And if you like having people not smile or reply to you and throw your change on the counter when paying for your meal you will love this place

When this China Bar opened it was unbelievable good. The staff were incredible, the food was amazing and super tasty and it had a good atmosphere. Now that they have settled and become established, the service lacks and the oomph factor from the dishes has gone. There's nothing special about this place anymore other than the cheap food.

The China bar has to be the best and the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have been to in a long time. The food is great with the Peaking duck is to die for. If you go you have to try thier smoothies, the Taro and coconut is the best.

China Bar is one the places I would go to regularly. Food across the range is pretty good and consistent in quality. I really like the dry curry noodles and the kung po chicken.

service is pretty ordinary, but thats what you can expect from a place like this. Price is ok.
