My two experiences have been very positive, on each occasion the service and price has been very reasonable. Firstly I had the heads were replaced on the 4x4, the car ran like a dream, secondly I had work on my small Barina I asked them to look and resolve an issue with the car, however prior to undertaking the work they called, provided a price and on one occasion suggested a cheaper option. My experience have been good and I would recommend you try the service.

I had my car repaired for overheating. City Auto fixed a leak and charged approximately $800. I drove less than 20 kilometeres and the problem returned. This time a head replacement $2900. The car didn't seem to run right after that with a noticible flat spot in acceleration. Less that 1000km later the original problem has returned. So far I have spent almost $4000 for the fix and yet the problem remains. To anyone considering City Auto I would suggest you try somewhere else. In my experience they do not seem capable of repairing mechanical problems in cars. There is little professionalism and no work quality.I am not returning to them to fix the original problem.

5 months to get my car fixed and had to constantly call them to find out what was happening.. seriously, they are the slowest car repair service in Darwin

Totally disappointed by the service offered ... to be avoided Here is my story: Recap the story about our experience with City Auto repair with our Caravelle Van. 6th of Sept: Clutch car failure signaled at 10:00 am (no other problem to car, engine starter OK) ; Tow organize at 12:30 to bring the car in garage 7th of Sept: first commitment received to have car fixed the 11th of Sept in afternoon. 11th of Sept: No information received, we have been in the garage to understand that a missing part in the package (bearing); new commitment to have the car the 12th of sept. 12th of Sept: Bearing not delivered; new commitment to have the car the 13th 13th of Sept: Bearing not delivered; new commitment to have the car the 14th 14th of Sept: No information received; we go in the garage in the afternoon to better understand the situation; it seems the bearing have not been shipped from the supplier. NOT ACCEPTABLE to get this information at this stage. New commitment to have the car the 17th of Sept 17th of Sept: End of the day car supposed to be ready. We paid more than 1600$ ; We get the car; go for a test drive. Not possible to use 4th & 5th gear. Some hole on the acceleration thats never happens before on this car. The car have not been tested and fixed properly! We bring the car in front of City Auto. Again one additional delay. 18th of Sept: 7h30 we complain about gear box issue and acceleration problem. At 10:30 call from the garage, we go to the garage, they said: - Gear box issue fixed; - You need to replace your battery; - We need to do additional investigation (and we need to pay again) about engine problem. We are refusing and decide to consult other professional. On the way to the other professional I realized: - Gear box issue not fixed (not possible to use the 4th & 5th gear) issue is still not fixed ! - Still some hole in the acceleration - JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE to give a car in this condition to a customer. Other professional fixed the following problem on the car : - Air flow meter not connected => have been reconnected - Vacuum hose from throttle/manifold disconnected => reconnected - Check ignition timing - Check gear box shifter rod / re installed incorrect on splines under floor remove and turn two splines clockwise retighten clam All those fixed done in 40 minutes! This professional have: - Fixed the gear box issue not properly setup by City Auto. - Fixed also engine issue that was not present before the Clutch issue - On pending action could not done due to missing space in his workshop: o Need to remove starter power cable to solenoid and sans paper clean terminals maybe replace terminals and refit tight. They agree to have the last task done by city auto free of charge. We are going to city auto they did the job, car start again normally. We drive a bit and stop and the car refused to start again ... with some help we have detected the cable to the solenoid was not correctly in contact. Again NOT ACCEPTABLE and poor quality of job has been done here by City Auto.
