I went there today with my fiance to get ice cream and milkshake. I asked to sample the ice cream as we hadn't been there before. I asked for the banana and the person serving gave me a small sample as you normally get. I had a tiny bit, but didn't like it. I gave a small amount to my fiance who also didn't like it. We asked to try the chocolate. He again only gave usone tasting spoon with a regular tasting serve of ice cream. Which tasted okay, but on the bland side. And then I wanted to try one more, the cake batter as if I was getting ice cream I'd get two flavours. And I was refused, saying two tastings was the maximum. Considering there was two of us, so you can only try one flavour each? I thought that was poor customer service and no there was no one behind me in line. I will continue to buy my ice cream elsewhere. Also I guess they pick boring ice cream flavours because you are expected to add toppings to it.

Great place for an exciting range of ice-creams. Pick your ice-ceam flavours then add lollies, jellies, smarties, cookie bits etc then watch as it is all folded in together. Yummy!

Great ice cream as always, very nice people who own the place and generous with their servings. There is sometimes a long line on a hot day but that's because its sooo good.

Extremely clean shop, very friendly staff, very yummy yummy, ice cream, different choices of mix-in, best milk shake in town. What else can you ask for? Cold Rock Bundoora is simply the best.
You cant go pass their cake batter ice cream with cookie dough!

Service - exceptional, took time to explain the process. Even though we had no clue of what we are ordering they went extra mile let us try nearly all the ice-creams in other to make it easier for us to make up our mind

I was really excited to try Cold Rock after seeing the founders appear on Oprah. Basically, you choose an ice cream then a filling (like M&Ms, Gummi Bears or Mars Bar) and they chop it all up on a cold rock and put it in a cup - like a McDonald's McFlurry. The initial disappointment was the price being $5.20 for a regular (very small cup) which did not include the cost of any filling. Each filling was an additional 80 cents and that bought you perhaps 4 clinkers or one baby size mars bar. Second disappointment was to get home and be told by my partner that we were overcharged 80 cents. Sounds like very little but it would have bought us an additional filling which would have been nice. Would recommend people spend $6 - $8 buying their own ice cream and filler and make their own at home!
