There are 2 Comfort Inns on Cobra St, this establishment (also known as Dubbo City Motor Inn) should not be confused with Comfort Inn Blue Lagoon at 79 Cobra St. I wished my company's travel agent had booked me into the latter! The sense of foreboding when driving into the carpark (shoddy looking motel, piles of rubbish at the back of the carpark) did not abate when I stepped into "reception". At first I thought they must be shut ... so dark was the place. Finally a barefoot, sweaty proprietor emerged to give me my room key. As for the room... the wardrobe stunk so I did not place my clothes inside, bathroom wall was dirty. The key kept getting stuck in the lock and when I went for assistance the guy was quite rude. I had dinner at the aforementioned Blue Lagoon (there is no restaurant at this place and no way would I eat there anyway!). I mentioned where I was staying to the waiter; he gave me a look that told me that 57 Cobra St is well known as NOT being the place to stay!!

Approximate cost: $can't recall, but too much for this dive!
