Don’t recommend Dr George Gayagay, terrible surgeon who has no bedside manner and completely ruined my right femur and hip from his terrible surgery I’ve had to go to another surgeon to have it fixed and still need further surgeries to help correct what he did. Stay clear of him

I was referred to see Dr. Gayagay by a friend for a second opinion about my knee after a single episode of giving way after a basketball game. I used to be active but I now do office work mostly. To allay my concerns, I went to see an orthopaedic surgeons in sydney but then ended up seeing a couple because they all gave varying opinions of surgery ranging from half a knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, and arthroscopy for my knee. To my surprise, they all suggested surgery in the private hospital but my concern was that they didn't even examine my knee!
Dr. Gayagay, however, took a detailed history and my activity levels. He took time examining my knee, my feet and even my hips (!) and ordered more X-rays. He discussed with me that because of my activity levels, my work and that I only had a single episode of instability; he explained that surgery is not necessary and all that is required is physiotherapy and modify how I play my basketball game or change my sport altogether.

Now, I have started and enjoy my cycling and my knee does not bother me anymore!

I respect Dr. Gayagay as a surgeon who indeed knows when to and when not to operate. Considering that he has only just started his practise; I respect him because he solved my problem without an expensive and unnecessary surgery!!!

I am happy to recommend Dr George Gayagay as an orthopaedic surgeon. I like the holistic approach he takes with patients and found him to be friendly and approachable. I was very happy with the advice he gave and in the end did not require surgery to treat my condition. :)
