If you're looking to authentically tell your story to connect with your customers through a video production, then I guarantee that working with Asher is one of the best investments you'll make in your business!

What a joy it is working with Asher. He really listened to me and he understood the way I wanted to engage with my audience. He asked all the right questions which helped me to feel calm and confident in front of the camera, so that I could articulate my message in a way that reflected who I was. I wasn't looking for a polished script, I wanted to connect through story telling. And he nailed it!!

Asher Milgate is an incredibly talented and proficient artist.

I first came across his work with his Survivors exhibition which told the stories of individual members of the Stolen Generations from Nanima Mission in central New South Wales.

His images and stories of the Elders were beautifully told, extremely captivating and incredibly important to capture. A special project which meant a lot to the community.

Asher is a very passionate, dedicated and committed artist, and a lovely person in general.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Asher over the last few years on a number of public art exhibitions displaying his “Cooks” River? Aboriginal oral history portrait series. This stirring work of art beautifully captures important local stories in both a striking and deeply respectful manner - such is his talent to carefully balance these two elements.

Asher is easy-going and great to work with. He is passionate about his work, holds high standards and doesn’t rest until the best outcome is achieved.

Asher Milgate is an incredibly talented artist and photographer and he is immensely popular and highly respected among his peers. I first met Asher through Indigenous artists that I represent in my art gallery, Art Atrium, as Asher had worked with them over the years. He was also highly recommended to me as an artist by Sandy Edwards when she curated an exhibition featuring Asher Milgate. We started representing Asher in 2019 and he had participated in two group exhibitions in our gallery and we have also arranged for him to have a solo exhibition at Adelaide Perry Gallery at PLC Croydon later this year. We are fortunate to have Asher as a treasured member of our family of artists.

While Asher’s high-level technical and conceptual expertise is obviously reflected in his finished works, it is his underlying humanity that is at risk of being understated by observers of his work. Yet it is this humanity that enables him to easily engage with all stakeholders, and the subject of his work, to ensure the excellence of his product. My personal involvement with him during the development of his “Duality” project, based on our Birrpai lands, in September 2019, and then its subsequent exhibition in March 2020, provides me with the confidence to make these claims. And I believe they are further supported by his previous highly credible work “Survivors”, which required deep engagement with our Wiradjuri peoples. Quite simply, Asher is a “gooden”.

Asher provided photography services for our pre-wedding lunch, wedding ceremony and our reception.

From start to finish Asher was an absolute dream. He made our various young and elderly family members, friends and loved ones all feel comfortable. So many people told us they hadn’t had seen such flattering photos of themselves in years!

Most importantly Asher captured the day in the exact style that we were after.

He took the time to understand the look and feel we wanted and suggested creative and innovative shots that we loved.

On the day, Asher captured the typical set up family shots, but also took so many candid shots - we ended up loving these the most!

The first time I fell in love with Asher's work was when he did the survivors series (If you haven't seen this, do yourself a favor). Since, I've used Asher at a number of events and have always been impressed with his professionalism and the quality of his work. He has a unique ability to be able to capture a person's personality in its most still form, pure genius!

Asher is a gifted photographer with an extraordinary ability to capture moments in a documentary style. How do we thank him enough for capturing the most joyous moment of our wedding? I have also witnessed his powerfully moving giant portraits of Wiradjuri elders that exhibited at Dubbo's gallery, spectacular. Through his lens, a candid glimpse of soul is revealed.

I have known Asher Milgate for a period of some 20 years and have used his photography services on many occasions over that time.

Asher is a versatile artist who has demonstrated himself to be equally comfortable exhibiting his work in galleries or working to brief in capturing high quality images for clients.

Particularly, Asher has carved out a niche working with young families and women, be it in high quality portraiture or wedding photography.

I have no hesitation recommending Asher whole-heartedly for whatever occasion you may require a photographer.
