Whilst everything managed to settle on the day, we were wondering what we were actually paying our solicitor for. He didn't seem to do anything, he certainly didn't tell us what was going on. We had to call him everytime we wanted to know where things were at, he would never initiate calling. The communication was terrible.

My expectations of our solicitor going into this process were high and the results were less than satisfactory. The process was never fully explained to us and as others have said, they add extra costs and don't tell you about it till after. Their communication is HORRIBLE. We had to call them everytime and things had been done and not communicated to us. We got an email not a phone call the day of settlement. Our solicitor's excuse was that he only does what he is told. I wouldn't recommend using these people. Pay more and use someone decent.

Conveyancing works is a convenient option for conveyancing, based on having a set price, with no more to pay for standard convenancing, with contact generally all over the phone or via email. However, our experiences were not all together helpful, as our conveyancer was at times difficult to contact and needed constant reminders to chase things up.

Gave a quote for conveyancing for purchase of property and conveniently failed to tell us about their extra charges which added a few more hundred to the price. Nor were they able to admit their mistake. At least the work got done properly.
