I am completely dissatisfied with an unprofessional conduct of the Conveyancing World.
From the very first contact I have underlined importance of the follow-up with the rental issues in the purchased property and with the bond in particular, as this tenancy is continues for more than 15 years and so some documents could've been lost over this period.
I was assured that all these issues will be followed up thoroughly and dutifully. However, only verbal assurance that the bond has been lodged with the Authority was relayed to me prior the settlement. No copies of deposit have been provided, nor has adjustment for the bond amount been made.
Now, after the settlement (and their fees taken), they became completely unresponsive: I've sent 3 emails and made a phone call to follow up and to demand problem rectification. No replies to emails. Promise to resolve the issue promptly during phone call.
I have lodged a complaint with Consumers Affairs Victoria after trying to deal with them directly for several weeks.
I believe that Conveyancing World breached many Rules of Professional Conduct listed in Schedule 1 of Conveyancers... Regulations 2008 published on Consumer Affairs Victoria web site:
1. Honesty, fairness and professionalism: lied about bond being lodged; did not reply on my last emails.
2. Skill, care and diligence: no care taken of my business.
3. Fiduciary obligations: did not submit Statement of Adjustments for my perusal prior the settlement;
6. To act in the client's best interests and according to the client's instructions: obviously this has not been done.
7. To regularly communicate with client: all calls during the whole process were initiated by me; they never called me to inform about the progress.
8. To confirm client's oral instructions in writing: this has never been done.

Fast reliable service, the turn around time on documents, was always treated like I matter and was important. Settlement was completed without any problems, Was always fully informed about what was happening with my file.
