A recently updated pub that now features boutique accommodation, polished rooftop deck, a classy pub bar and a neat little bistro serving classic French comfort food. The ligh wood interior gives off a nice polished but warm vibe. Sophisticated but nothing too glamorous. This is also reflected in the menu, which is the work of the former Comme chef.
There is velvety asparagus soup enlivened by bold flavours of salt cod and black garlic, quail, lemon curd souffle. The menu is both classic yet inventive. Service is lovely, being prompt, efficient but also real - ie. the waiters don't come across as drones, but nor are they intrusive.
