1 review about David Mccoy Homes

In 2008 we built a new home with David McCoy homes in Cairns.

Not knowing all the rules, we trusted David McCoy to do the right thing and follow all the Australian Standards and regulations.

About two years after moving in we received a huge water bill.
An experienced leak detection plumber found the leak underneath the exposed aggregate driveway.

I notified David McCoy as the plumbing was still under warranty.

I was informed that they would not assist me and that I should lodge a case with the BSA.

The water was now pouring away under the driveway. The BSA notified me that it would take up to 3 months to process a claim and if I chose to repair the leak myself then I could no longer lodge a claim.

I chose to get the leak repaired at a cost of $900, paid the huge water bill and thought that would be the end of my troubles.

I have since had in excess of 10 leaks.

In each case the plumber noted that no sand had been placed in the trenches. Large rocks had not been removed from the soil and the water pipes were running directly under or on top of the storm water pipes.

I contacted David McCoy on several occasions but always got the same response.

In the end I paid $12400 to completely replace the cold water piping and repair my driveway.

Total cost including water bills and plumber costs are around $20000

Feel free to contact me if you would like further information or would like to view the photos and receipts.
