This is a long review, for that I apologise, but I truly hope, you take the time to read what I’ve written, and will then understand why it’s so long. I recently had to have surgery on my shoulder and was told that my right arm would be in a sling and that I would not be able to use my arm for six weeks! Having long hair, this immediately was a problem for me, how was I going to manage washing, let alone blow drying my long hair? That’s when I discovered The Cutting Room in Dianella. The day of my surgery, I made an appointment to have my hair washed and put into a French braid, which was a great choice, I didn’t have to worry about my hair being ‘messy’, that braid stayed in perfectly for five days, I was delighted. I then went back for a shampoo and blow dry, which, seven weeks later, I go back weekly for a wash and blow dry. Having my hair washed, which is then followed by a head massage, was a new experience for me, one that I’ve never experienced, ever, only when I’ve had a treatment, which of cause costs extra, here, you get a treatment every time, without the extra cost! I forgot to mention, that whilst you’re relaxing ha ing this beautiful head massage, the lay back seat, is giving you a body massage at the same time, how good is that, trust me, very good! All the staff are extremely good, and make a wonderful team, from the minute you arrive, you get a warm friendly greeting. The salon if beautifully set up, I was so impresssed to see a little car for the kiddies to sit in while having their hair cut, we know how daunting it can be for some of them, this is truly a great asset to have. On top of all this, once you’re sitting comfortably, you’re offered a choice of warm or cool drinks that are served with biscuits, what more could you want? I have to finish on a very honest statement, since going to The Cutting Room, I have had numerous comments said to me, not only from my family but from strangers as well, saying what beautiful hair I have, and yes, it’s so true, my hair has never, looked and felt so good as it does now, thanks to the beautiful, wonderful products they use, and of cause the amazing girls who give such wonderful shampoos and head massages, my hair is living proof of this. All this and more, are my reasons for scoring The Cutting Room 5 well deserved stars! If you haven’t yet visited them, trust me, you should. My shoulder is quite good now, but I still go for my weekly ‘treatments’ and will continue to do so, for a long time. BAD! She cut one side of my hair 1.5" shorter than the rest. Uneven cut, still growing it out a yr later. worst .

Had my hair cut there today. Specifically told the hairdresser to not cut it on the top as it was too short already, and she did exactly what I asked her not to do. In fact, she cut it all too short, and when I said to her it was too short, she just said, "Do you have hairspray". Definitely will not be going back there. Too expensive as well.

Went for a cut and wash, was quite expensive and felt a little awkward as I just sat there with no talking or hair advice or product advice. One of the most expensive cuts I've had and there wasn't even much taken off.

Staff members were all really friendly, and the salon is chemical free which is great. I really enjoyed my treatment. However, I have had much better haircuts. I asked for length with layers, and the hairdresser took a lot more hair off than discussed. It was styled in a jen-style bob with a tail. For the level of experience of the staff member I had, and overall service (no drink offered, styling advice or products explained) I felt it was very expensive, coming in at around $80 for cut (dry off, with no straighteners) and treatment.
