HOW I FOUND MY HAPPY PLACE

This is a story of journey, my journey. A journey through scarcity, stability, security and ultimately my story.

I spent many years in unfulfilling employment that left me coming home day after day, week after week, year after year feeling unsatisfied and empty. At the time I wasn’t aware, but it was really affecting my mental health.

I wanted an out.

After much searching, I signed on to become a franchisee in what I thought at the time was going to be the change I needed. It turned out to be as unfulfilling as what I had just left behind, leaving me with all the feelings I thought were in the past.

Then Covid arrived.

I was jobless and at home and I was a teacher to my beautiful 5-year-old daughter who had quite literally just begun her journey at primary school. The whole world had changed for both of us and little did we know at the time, that this was going to be our new normal for the best part of 2 years.

All of a sudden I had loads of time to think about where I wanted to go with my professional journey moving forward, whilst brushing up on my colouring and spelling skills!

I knew at the time I most definitely didn’t want to return to being an employee in another unfulfilling job that would bring me no joy. I was done with returning home from work feeling empty and depressed and I didn’t want my negativity rubbing off on my family dynamic anymore.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial itch that I’ve wanted to scratch but have always doubted myself and been too afraid to make the leap. For years I’ve been trawling the internet searching for that opportunity that jumps off the page at me.

At some point, I’m not exactly sure when. I must have seen an ad, I assume on Face book and been drawn down a funnel where I left an email address and thought nothing more of it. It turns out that ‘hook’ was from Scott Weddell of the Digital Marketing School and moving forward from then, I received regular follow-up emails. I didn’t pay much attention to them for quite some time but Scott kept following up as a good marketer should.

My interest was piqued by an invitation to join a 5 session course that showed me what is possible when you learn this unique skill set as taught by the Digital Marketing School. I went all in.

I had absolutely no experience as a marketer, just a burning desire to be in total control of my own destiny.

I leap out of bed every day, excited for what it presents. For the first time, I know I’m making a positive impact and it feels great.

Personally, my family life has never been better. We’ve never spent so much quality time together and we love it.
