Booked a table for 8 and was not told that it was compulsory to have 3 courses each at $80 PP minimum.Found out and cancelled, then went to Tamarind up the road for $21 per person and it was lovely...Total thievery!

I've only been here for coffee. The coffee was good and the decor is nice, but it is overpriced compared to other outlets nearby, and the service was slow (this only mattered because we were on a time limit). It's a big restaurant though so suits larger gatherings.

The food was amazing, slow cook in an open fire. My only problem was the way they charged. We went on a Saturday night and was forced to get a set menu, basically go on a week night. Having to have a minimum of 2 courses each, means when comparing prices from the week day, we paid approx. $30 for a slice of cake. Very cheeky. The food is so great they shouldn't have to trick people like this. If I go again, not on a Friday or Saturday.

Their website reveals a menu pricing like any other fine dining restaurants'. Little did we know that on Saturdays, only the set menu is available and you're cornered into ordering a 3 or 5 course meal (min cost $80/person). (It just states that a minimum of 3 courses must be ordered.) The menu with individual pricing for the entree, mains and desserts is not available. Still not realising we had "ordered" the 3 course meal, we were confused as to why the food items had no prices. Much later, from the bill, we found out that we had paid for the 3 course meal and not 3 courses per person -- suddenly the whole menu system made sense - so sneaky!! We're happy to pay for a fine dining experience, however, we dislike restaurants that provide misleading information or "casually" slip things into your bill. Also, for the ambience, food and style of service (not fine dining service style), it's very expensive when compared to a real fine dining restaurant. If you still want to dine here, the duck is the best. I wont return only because I feel they are rather sly about the menu system.

Approximate cost: $50
