I love Doubleday have been with them for over 10 years have brought heaps of books of them

Sometimes you get the wrong ones sent out but that's no drama just send it back in original box
and they resend you the others

If you don't want editors choice say so otherwise they will send it and you have to send it back or pay for it

Any damaged goods get returned as well i have never had damaged books but they did have a special recently buy 2 books get a wok for $4.95 but every time it got sent out {2}the lid was scratched i gave up in the end it was only a small one I'm not sure if it was getting scratched coming here

But i love there books cheaper than book stores like Dy-mocks etc has huge range they also do DVDs but that's a separate membership

Got a DVD recently for $10 The Sunny Cowgirls Live in Concert Live Wires obviously Country it was awesome hadn't heard of them but thought it wasn't much If I didn't like them Interviews and some backstage stuff which I really like on a DVD 1 hour 50 mins approx. www.sunnycowgirls.com

A couple of times i have ordered books and when they came they were the wrong ones and sometimes you mite put in a order when they have a huge sale and you get a letter saying no longer in stock i have got that a few times

But over the years i have saved heaps and they are delivered to your door normally take approx week and a half if you do phone order and they have stock
Lots of ideas for Xmas and birthdays!!

Great place to find the book or music you want
the only thing is you have to be a member for 12 months and b uy at least one item every 3 months.
But after that you do get cheaper prices on everything

Approximate cost: $30,00

A book club that offers discounts compared to other stores. Books are generally the same for long periods of time, but the special sales can offer really good value - you might need to be quick to get what you want though.

Approximate cost: $35.00

I love to read but find the convenience and prices at Doubleday really convenient with a hectic lifestyle. You can read blurbs of the books and reviews plus they categorise the books so you can easily find what you are looking for

Approximate cost: $30.00

Good range of books- especially kids and toddler books. Easy to use web-site and arrive in good packaging.

really great to be able to choose from so many books. The mailing are regular and they always have good specials. If you become a VIP member there is no postage charges. Also, shopping on-line is very handy and you can pay by credit card.

These books are of high quality but would be cheaper to purchase at the shop as postage is extremely high & often the book is a little over priced. After completing my contract with this company I found that they kept sending me a book (editors choice) bi-monthly. The first time I sent it back, I was charged for their postage, but 6mths later they have stopped sending it out to me. But they do have the occasional good deal especially around Xmas.

Approximate cost: $30.00

I joined this book club as l thought it was an easy way to get some new books without leaving home. You have to buy 6 books in a year to fulfill the commitment. I bought my 6 books and wanted to cancel my membership, as the book plus postage proved to be much more expensive than books in shops. Firstly they told me that l had books unpaid for, despite the fact that i hadn't received anything. They then told me that l had only bought 5 books as 2 bought together were a 'package' and counted as one book. These 2 books cost me over $50. Not what l would pay for one book. Doubleday are going to make me purchase one last book before they cancel my membership. My advice is to NEVER deal with this company, no matter how attractive the offers may seem.

Hi Wondrwoman, Thank you kindly for the heads-up. We too had a similar experience, in fact, if we had of composed our own review (of said business), it would have read much the same as yours. One of our biggest bugbears was that despite making it abundantly clear that we did not want our personal details disclosed to any third party (we had checked and highlighted the box on the actual application and went out of our way to include an official letter detailing the same), our request was ignored. Despite receiving a somewhat ‘weak’ apology/explanation, our privacy had been breeched which was inexcusable. Very disappointing. Reeces
