I saw Dennis for my Two babies. The first was a breeze pregnancy and Dennis' laid back approach really helped me with my anxiety etc about the baby throughout the pregnancy. I had him on his due date (no induction or anything) and Dennis was great. He came to see me a few times in hospital which was great.
I had a terrible second pregnancy. After the 20 week ultrasound there were concerns around how my baby was growing. Dr price suggested to have an amnio if it would put my mind at ease. He was usually very jovial at appointments however at this appointment he was very serious and caring (I went to the amnio appointment at a different ultrasound place in box hill and the sonographer said I had nothing to worry about so didn't perform it!) At 30 weeks I started having contractions - Dennis came into hospital and chatted about everything. He put me on medication to stop the contractions however said I must contact the hospital if it happens again - which it did at 33 weeks! At this time Dennis said I had to stay in hospital for at least a week.
I was induced at 37 weeks due to still having contractions and Dennis was great during this process (which I was very scared about!) when my baby started coming he was brilliant - a great 'coach' in helping me! The only disappointment was the he didn't come in to see me at all during my hospital stay after baby was born which I thought was odd and disappointing.

Dennis delivered all three of my girls. He was experienced and reassuring and when it came time to deliver he was extremely focused. I had complete trust in him and would reccomend him to anyone.

We had 2 beautiful kids thanks to Dennis. He was a bit relaxed which was a bit unexpected but worked really well. My wife had hymeremsis and the way he handled the situation was nothing short of amazing. We would highly recommend him. He is there when you need him.

I saw Dennis for my twins (fourth and fifth babies) after feeling like the large tertiary hospital I was at was not respecting my wishes and undermining my ability to birth my babies safely with minimal intervention. As a student midwife I have access to all the literature about best practise for twin births, and found Dennis followed all this without pushing it onto me (e.g., most literature supports induction at 38-39 weeks, Dennis indicated this is what he would like to do, but respected my wishes to wait til I was 40 weeks). Dennis was thorough, without being too risk averse, I felt that he trusted pregnancy and birth as a normal process rather than a major medical event. He was very experienced, able to find the twins' heartbeats easily and knew their positions by simply palpation (compared to the hospital who insisted on a million ultrasounds). In the end I had a beautiful birth, everyone missed the first twin because it was so quick, and Dennis helped me birth the second twin who was breech, in a no fuss easy going manner, but taking necessary precautions to make sure we were all safe. I could not recommend him highly enough.

I chose Dr Price for my first pregnancy, based on reviews on WOMOW and elsewhere. During the pregnancy (2012), I was happy with his relaxed attitude due to the fact that my pregnancy was seemingly uncomplicated. I thought, however, once things got a little complicated (posterior baby, overdue to 42 weeks) he would offer more guidance and information given that this was my first baby. He did not inform me that my baby was in a posterior position and I believe the information may have helped me mentally prepare for a long labour and the possibility of emergency caesarean. He saw me once only during 30 hours of labour to break my waters and the next time I saw him was in theatre for the emergency caesarean. After the caesarean, I was in hospital for 5 nights. Dr Price saw me twice briefly after the caesarean and didn't see me within the last 2 days before I was discharged which I thought was a bit slack. Overall, I was disappointed in the lack of communication I received. The lack of EFTPOS and credit card facilities and electronic medicare rebates was also an annoyance. On the up side, my scar has healed well. I did not go back to Dr Price for my 6 week appointment and will be looking for a different, more thorough and informative Obstetrician for my next pregnancy and hopefully VBAC birth.

Dennis is somewhat dismissive or blaze (or too relaxed) but this didn't bother me too much because thats what I needed to calm my nerves and worries. perhaps if there was a genuine concern and he was dismissive, I would think otherwise. Overall, my experience with him was good. I wouldn't say the service was outstanding though. On one occasion I arrived at my appointment to see Dennis to be told that he is at a delivery. I asked the receptionist why we never received a courtesy call to advise us so we could make another appointment and she indicated they don't do that!!! Do you believe that!!?? They don't do courtesy calls! I was not impressed as my husband and I both took the day off work!! Another annoyance is the fact that payment of invoices is only via cheque, money order or cash. No credit card or EFT facilities....that's outdated in my books! Would I go back to him? Probably yes, because he knows my history and my c-section went really well (the other staff in the theatre at Cabrini during my c-section are exceptional). Hope this feedback helps you....good luck.

Can't rave about Dr Price enough! He delivered my first baby at Cabrini at the start of 2011. His relaxed manner and sense of humour through my appointments made my pregnancy a smooth one, and boy was I glad he was my obstetrician when a few hours before delivery they realised my baby was breech. Apparently 99% of obstetricians will just do a C-Section in breech cases, but Dr Price is one of the VERY few that will deliver breech babies. He suggested I try and push, and sure enough, I was able to deliver my baby feet first without any complications! The midwives rave about him and having him there during my labour made me feel like I was in safe hands. He is just lovely and highly experienced.

So glad I chose him. Had a more stressful then normal pregnancy and ended up in hospital at twenty two weeks for nearly three months till our twins were born at 32 weeks (in Oct). Wouldn't have coped as well as I did without Dr price as my obstitrician. He is very laid back which kept me relaxed as I'm normally a stress head. He listened to my concerns and suggestions and I would go back to him in a heart beat. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and I don't say that lightly. I am the sort of person that will let everybody know if I'm not happy and in this case I am pleased to say I was 100% satisfied. Dr price was with me at the hospital within two hours of going into labour and there till the end. A bonus is his fees are about half the price of the other obstitricians as well. This was not a deciding factor for us at all, I chose him after seeing two other obstitricians as I felt very at ease with him. Definitely worth an appointment with him to see if he is the right obstitrician for you.
