Dr John Howland

I saw Dr Howland for a small gynaecological procedure back in 2009. I chose to have this done by a gynaecologist rather than my GP as I assumed this would mean a high standard of care.

I didn't like Dr Howlands manner at all. He was professional but not at all caring or understanding. When I returned with some concerns following the procedure he was completely unsympathetic and told me to just deal with it.

Now that I am looking for an obstetrician I though it important to provide this review as I would not chose Dr Howland to be my obstetrician and would not reccomend him. He did not have the type of bedside manner I would look for when making this important decision!

I first saw Dr John Howland after a miscarriage, and then saw him through my next pregnancy which ended much more happily with the birth of my daughter. He has a bit of a funny manner about him but at the crucial times when it counts I trusted him completely and felt safe that he would do what was best. He was very understanding after the miscarriage. I will be going to him again for my next baby. Not the cheapest obstetrician but not the dearest either!
